Who we are

The National Association of Teachers of Singing, Inc., founded in 1944, is the largest professional association for teachers of singing worldwide. With over 7,000 members spanning across the United States, Canada, and more than twenty-five other countries, NATS continues to bring together a global community of voice educators, performers, and researchers. Our membership includes professionals from countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

NATS is committed to fostering vocal excellence by offering a range of opportunities for lifelong learning and professional development. Through local chapters and national events, members can engage in workshops, master classes, conferences, and intern programs to enhance their teaching and performance skills. One of our key initiatives is the Student Auditions, which offers students the chance to perform and receive feedback from esteemed professionals. Students and members can also compete in the NATS Artist Awards (NATSAA), a distinguished national competition recognizing outstanding vocal talent.

To support its members' continuing education and research, NATS publishes the Journal of Singing, a well-regarded resource featuring articles by leading experts on vocal pedagogy, performance, and voice science.

As part of a larger organization that continuously seeks to grow and build strong relationships, the South Florida Chapter (formerly Florida Gold Coast) is excited to play a role in nurturing the next generation of vocal artists and educators.
