As each category closes, the results will be posted at the registration desk at the entrance of the Arts and Letters building (AL-9 on the map).

5:00 PM Approximate end to the judging.

The winners’ Concert will begin at approximately 6:00 PM in the Marleen Forkas Studio One Theatre (PA-51 on the map)

A few important things:

1. Both hard copy and digital sheet music ARE allowed. NATS encourages all students and pianists to abide by U.S. Copyright Laws and should use only authorized reproductions of copyrighted works at all levels of NATS sponsored events. All teachers have agreed to this copyright policy as of student registration.

2. Some categories may only have 1 or 2 participants and no winners.  To win a category the total average score of three judges must add up to 90% and above.

3. There are UP to three winners from each category: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. ONLY 1st PLACE will sing in the Winners’ Concert.  Each winner can pick one piece they prefer to perform. Bob Sharon will be the accompanist for the Winners’ Concert. The Winners’ Concert is a free event held in the Marleen Forkas Studio One Theatre (PA-51 on the map). Seating is limited to 142 attendees.
a. For categories with both a 1st and 2nd-place winner, a certificate and monetary prize will be awarded to both. If a 3rd-place winner is selected in a given category, they will receive a certificate only.

4. The admin room where Rachal will be throughout the day if there are any issues is AH-117. This room is where tallying and score sheets must go when categories are finished. Student volunteers will be the runners for the completed auditions.

5. The practice rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the Arts and Letters building (AL-9 on the map). Student volunteers will be there to assist with this.

6. The judging rooms are also located throughout the Arts and Letters building (AL-9 on the map).

7. Contemporary Music Categories: VERY IMPORTANT: These categories allow students to sing with a track.  If your students are performing in this category, Florida Atlantic University WILL PROVIDE A MICROPHONE AND SPEAKER. Participants are welcome to bring their own Bluetooth speaker if desired. The provided speaker will have a USB-C, Lightning, and a 3.5mm connection. The microphone provided will have an on/off switch. Participants should check the mic and/or mic stand position before performing. This category also allows students to perform with piano or other instruments, as outlined in the regulations.

8. Each singer will be able to pick their first piece, and then in the time allotted, the judges will select the following piece or pieces. The time allotted for each singer will be on your schedule.

9. At the 9:00 AM meeting, you will receive your packet of judge forms for the day and your itinerary for rooms.

Thanks so much, and I can’t wait!
